If you like to read books where the protagonist experiences indignity after indignity with little to no respite, this is the book for you. I don't mind reading books about underdogs but usually about the midpoint in a book, things start to get better. Not so for this main character. Things remain bleak for about 95% of the book.I selected this book based reviews. That being said, this author must have at least three good friends, all who left glowing reviews for this mostly despairing book.SPOILER††******†**************So here's why I titled my review misleading. The subtitle of the book is "Gay Werewolf Romance" except, there is no romance, not even the hope of one -- the author makes that clear. I wish there were an avoid button to ensure that I am never duped into reading this author again.
There was no romance, only the hope of a romance. Josh has to save the pack from an evil that could kill them all. Andrea is an Amazon in training who doesn't fit in. Gavin, a park ranger that doesn't even know he is a werewolf and the Alpha they need. It was a great story and I even cried for Elaine and Josh as there doom is realized...again not a romance unless the author plans for a book two that will give Josh the love that he should have with his Alpha.
Romance? Not quite.Well written with a fairly believable premise. I enjoyed the pace of the story with a couple of exceptions. The author couldn't seem to decide who the main character was and flipped back and forth never picking one.I hope there is another story in this series.
This was a very unique story with the omega not getting the Alpha I also liked the inclusion of the Amazon's and the vampires I hope that Josh finds his true love he deserves it .
