This is my four year old son's favorite Octonauts book. This book is also my favorite of the Meomi Octonauts books. I hope they write more.My son loved the "Very Vegimal Christmas" episode, so I knew he would like this one since it focuses on the vegimals and their origin story. The fold out page with the octopod detail and the two glow in the dark pages are great. The authors always throw in details to keep adults amused (kimchi kelp cakes)I'm not sure why this book is not available in the US, but I was happy to find it on Amazon from a seller in the UK.Attached for your viewing pleasure is my son's drawing of the Octonauts
My 4 year old girl is a fan of Octonauts. And this book doesnt disappoint. Its detailed, colorful and its a bit longer (in terms of the story and the literal length of the book) than the other book we bought (The Octonauts and the Frowny Fish). Overall worth the purchase! Just wished there are more Octonauts books available in Amazon.
What an AMAZING book–even for a paperback! We have previously bought the other Meomi Octonaut books in hardcover (and they are well made and gorgeous) but since this one was really only available from the UK as a paperback, I bought it and was overjoyed with the quality! A pull-out page, an entire page spread with glow-in-the-dark (OMG!!), and amazingly detailed illustrations on par with the hardcover editions of The Only Lonely Monster, Frown Fish, and The Great Ghost Reef. I was very happy with the international Book Distributer seller; our book arrived in great condition, was brand new, and arrived within 14 days from order. I am so glad I finally ordered this book! It is truly squee-worthy with all of the vegimals and their story!
This is a great book. There are so many things to explore on each page, so many educational opportunities. A story about habitats and friendship. There is a fold-out page, a two page glow in the dark spread, and so many habitats to explore. There’s even a page that helps you explore the octopod and everyone’s rooms.A must for an octonauts orocean-loving family.
My favorite of the Meomi books - I don't mind reading it over and over and over. My 3 year old son especially loves the fold out page with all the details about the Octopod. This book is sturdy despite being paperback - we've manged to not rip any of the pages yet. The glow page doesn't work very well; we've held this up to light for a long time and then tried to view in totally dark room. We paid about $10 including shipping. Overall VERY happy with purchase.
The illustrations are AMAZING! Buy the paperback. It's a great little story. My kids love it and don't mind reading it over and over. I always find something new each time! This is one of my favorite children's books (and we read a lot of books!!)
My baby loves The Octonauts and I do too! It's educational, includes valuable lessons and talks about the importance to keep our environment clean. She loves the show, so I got this book and she likes to listen to me read while she looks at the pictures. The glow-in-the-dark page is also very cool! The book not only has a story, but it also shows the different parts of the ocean, and gives an inside look at the characters and Octopod. Pretty cool! Will be getting more Octonauts books for her in the future.
My 3 1/2 year old son is now a huge fan of the Octonauts... we watch the show and we read this book every night before bed. We love the extras... extended page, glow in the dark page, changing the direction of the book while reading. The only negative would be: why the need for zombies in the Bayou??? I definitely was shocked and try to cover most of them with my hand when reading. I am not explaining the undead to my toddler :/ Deducting one star for underwater zombies. Otherwise, fun and educational.
