This was a departure for Eliza. It was the first contemporary and suspenseful novel I have read by her. I liked the characters. I didn't like the soap opera set up. I look forward to getting to know the characters better. I thought the author could have done a better job of showing rather than telling emotions for the main characters. I will read at least the next title in this series.
Sammy wants a fresh start but she didn’t picture her first day of work getting into a wreck and meeting her boss going into a ambulance but Sammy has a past will she overcome it to became a great nurse!
Dr. Huck Alexander works in the trauma unit in hope to get head trauma surgeon it his recent activity may just keep that promotion away from him unless he can keep his hands off the female doctor and or nurses. Samantha is headed home to train in the trauma unit when she gets involved in a multi car pile up so when she gets to the hospital she is in full on active duty and runs into Huck. All she see at first is his sexy blue eyes and then his muscular body but she has learned the hard way doctors and nurses don’t mix and she has the scar on her face to prove it. This is a complicated story with lots of twist of suspenseful nature and human trafficking all rolled up in a steamy romance.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another really enjoyable book by Eliza Ellis. I've read several books by this author, and have enjoyed every one. That said, I have a weakness for hospital romances, probably because I worked in one for a long time. I really enjoyed Sam and Huck together. They have good chemistry, and that spark is always with you throughout the book. Also, I liked how the suspenseful/dangerous parts were written, not overblown or super campy like others I've read, but real, on the edge of your seat, tell me what will happen next, kind of suspense.I really enjoy this author, and I think you will too!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
From the first chapter when new trauma nurse Samantha Clark was involved in a multicar pile up with multiple injuries and fatalities when a tractor trailer involved in human trafficking jackknifed and blew up on the highway this story had plenty of action. I thought at one point the criminals behind that would go after Sam because she saw one of them run away from the truck and he identified her at the hospital. But she really has to worry about her ex-husband’s girlfriend who tried to kill her and ran out on her bail. There was plenty of action in the ER as the doctors and nurses dealt with multiple serious surgery cases on a daily basis. From the moment Sam stumbles into Dr. Huxley Armstrong there’s an attraction between then. But he’s her boss, has been reprimanded for having relationships with coworkers before, and his exs just won’t let him go. I thought that their romance developed too quickly since they really didn’t know each other long before the I love yous.
Sam was on her way back home to take a position as a nurse in training for the trauma center. What she hadn't expected was to be in a multi car crash on the expressway that involved mass casualties. The doctor, Hux that she was expected to meet was a very rude man after all he knocked her down and left her there on his way to OR. Dr. Hux was captivated by the nurse but he knew he had to be on good behavior if he wanted the position a head of the trauma ward. This story has you from the first all the way to the end. It is well written with lots of supporting characters that does this story proud. Sam is a strong woman who has endured a lot and it just proves you can't keep a good woman down!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Definitely enjoyed this medical romance. Very well written book,great characters.Dr. Huck Alexander hopes to get head trauma surgeon position if he can keep his hands off the female in the hospital.Samantha isa nurse to be train in the trauma after leaving NICU. She has learned the hard way not to get involved with doctors and she has the scar on her face to prove it.But his blue eyes..very tempting.He holds back also,this scar on Sam face telling him she suffered and he want something more then making her suffer again.This is a complicated and interesting story with lots of twists and turns,hot romance,jealousy and even trafficking treads in it.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I would not call this a straight up romance. This felt like one of those evening television hospital soaps where it is all about drama and angst. I don't watch those shows because they don't really interest me so reading this book was a little hard. I can appreciate that there are many people that are going to love the style this book/series was done it but I can honestly say I will not be reading more of the series. So if you like (Insert Color) Anatomy or any of the other stories that are on tv in that realm you will probably love this book and the series.I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
